Colop Marking Solutions SA cc is the official South African distributor of Colop products — self-inking stamps and marking devices, backed by a global brand founded in Austria in 1980.
How we started
On 1 November 2000, Cobus Jerling left the Silveray Stationery Company, a BIDVEST company, and acquired the rights to distribute Colop products in South Africa. In 2009, the business was restructured from Colop SA (Pty) Ltd into Colop Marking Solutions SA cc, the entity that operates today.

From our branches in Hartbeespoort and Cape Town, we distribute across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique — the most extensive self-inking stamp range in the Southern African marking industry.
Colop is founded
Karl Skopek founds Colop in a small office in Wels, Austria — the start of what becomes one of the leading international manufacturers of modern stamps and marking devices.
South African distribution begins
Cobus Jerling acquires the rights to distribute Colop products in South Africa, after leaving the Silveray Stationery Company (a BIDVEST company).

The business restructures from Colop SA (Pty) Ltd into Colop Marking Solutions SA cc, the entity that trades today.
